7 GENERATIONS Banner

Athabasca Indigenous Investments is a historic, landmark partnership made up of 23 diverse Indigenous communities, including the Cree, Dene, and Metis people from northeast Alberta and across the Oilsands developments who came together to purchase seven pipelines that move critical energy resources from our traditional lands to global markets. The investment provides the Indigenous peoples who are most impacted by these assets a direct stake in and accountability for their stewardship and positions the 23 communities for long term success by providing a significant economic impact now and for generations.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The opportunity to invest in seven pipelines throughout our shared territories that make up the Trunkline Asset aligns with the seven sacred teachings that guide our morals and our seven generational values. Athabasca Indigenous Investments is a partnership that was built with inclusion and impact at the forefront, leads the way for financial sovereignty for our people and sets the stage for future investment opportunities.

THE PARTNERSHIP

Seven Pipelines for Seven Generations – the Athabasca Indigenous Investments logo represents the coming together of 23 Indigenous communities, including the Cree, Dene, and Metis people from northeast Alberta and across the Oilsands developments for our collective, long-term success. The seven stripes on the globe represent the purchase of seven pipelines that move critical energy resources from our traditional lands to global markets, the seven sacred teachings that guide our morals and the seven future generations that will be impacted by the decisions of today.

The infinity symbol and feather represent both the Métis and First Nations people who came together around this historic investment. The colours of the Indigenous Medicine Wheel, the Metis Blue and the red colour of the Metis sash are interwoven with Enbridge’s brand colours to represent the true partnership, built with inclusion and impact in mind.
